Shiny Mud Balls

Filed under: General — chaser @ 12:50 pm

I read about these hikaru dorodangos a whiles back and and haven’t gotten around to writing about it. Basically it’s a dirt ball that you shine until it looks like marble. They say it’s a game young Japanese children play, but it takes an amazing amount of concentration and dedication to do it right. Seems to me to be a great way to teach children about hard work and perseverance and the payoffs of it.

If anyone decides to try it out send me pictures or post your comments.

Below are links to a fairly detailed page on how to create a hikaru dorodange as well as a gallery of them.

Enjoy
